  On October 2nd,2007, India 's first female President Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil initiated a signature campaign from Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Dilhi, Prevent female foeticidie in India. This Campaign has been started by the Ministry of health and Family wealfare, Government of India.
